a note on gratitude

Today in my readings and again at fhe the topic was Gratitude. I thought it was very interesting that everything was centered on that, and I'll take it as a huge hint that I need to show my gratitude as well as express it.

A few highlights...
From Pres. Monson's conference talk "The Divine Gift of Gratitude"
"When you walk with gratitude, you do not walk with arrogance and conceit and egotism, you walk with a spirit of thanksgiving that is becoming to you and will bless you lives."
"We can lift ourselves and others as well when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude...gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others."
"The grateful man sees so much in the world to be thankful for, and with him the good outweighs the evil. Love overpowers jealousy, and light drives darkness out of his life...Pride destroys our gratitude and sets up selfishness in its place. How much happier we are in the presence of a grateful and loving soul, and how careful we should be to cultivate, through the medium of a prayerful life, a thankful attitude toward God and man."
"...to express gratitude is gracious and honorable, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live with gratitude ever in our hearts is to touch heaven."
From Andy Albright's book "The 8 Steps to Success"
*Make a conscious decision that you are not going to complain.
*Start each day appreciating life.
*Remember the bad days are there to help you appreciate the good ones.
*Look at your glass as always full. Both the water and the air are vital parts.
From daddy's lesson on Gratitude
Mosiah 2:19-24
Goal: every night at dinner say what we are specifically grateful for, for that day
Goal: make prayers more meaningful, we are so abundantly blessed and will be forever indebted to our Heavenly Father.
